Lapel Pin Blog

Custom Lapel Pins have always been just a trinket that people have never paid much attention to.  Then when 9/11 hit, they made a huge come back to show support for the NYPD and  the FDNY.    Companies started to realize that this was an effective way to market.  If you could create a custom lapel pin and the costs were minimal, it could act as a walking billboard for your company, or even substitute for a uniform if you had a workforce that wore business attire.

Now companies everywhere are using lapel pins not only to promote their brand awareness and corporate identity, but also to show their branded support for other efforts their company may be involved with.   For instance many companies pick a cause and raise money for that particular cause.  Let’s use the example of Breast Cancer Awareness.  I have seen many companies create a custom awareness ribbon pin with their logo in the middle, to show support and more importantly their company’s commitment to the cause.

Custom lapel pins are a part of our style culture at this point and we should embrace it,.

When most custom lapel pins are created, they are usually a solid metal piece. That does not always have to be the case.

When their is a piercing or whole in a lapel pin, that is called a cutout. A cutout could really create a nice element for a lapel pin, however one needs to make sure that the structural integrity of the pin is not effected.

Cutouts create a beautiful effect for a lapel pin.  Although the cost is a little higher when designing a pin with a cutout, the over all gain for the design maybe worth it.  There are pins that have multiple cutouts to create desired effects.
